OCHM is the ONLY not-for-profit Homeopathic College that has an approved program recognised by the College of Homeopaths of Ontario (CHO). Our standards and our curriculum exceed those competencies outlined by the CHO. This is a guarantee that the education you will receive at OCHM is the most comprehensive and thorough and upon graduation, you will be able to treat patients successfully and with great confidence! Our high standards in education and clinical practice make sure your patients are a priority. Accountability and public protection go hand in hand and that is why our standards of education are higher than any other Homeopathic College in North America.
We would like to offer some guidance and clarification regarding the accreditation of homeopathic education in Ontario. Some Homeopathic Schools in Ontario advertise their accreditation with associations like ACHENA, a self-proclaimed accreditation commission for homeopathic education in North America.
This creates confusion amongst general public and students of Homeopathy in the province of Ontario: one may get an impression that, if ACHENA accredits North American schools, it surely must cover the province of Ontario. The province of Ontario is the ONLY jurisdiction in North America where the profession of Homeopathy is regulated by the government-mandated College of Homeopaths, and ONLY by the College. This regulation is finalised. The proclamation of the Homeopathy Act took place and Registration Regulations have been finalised and filed with the government. These include Competencies for Practice Standards, which will be used by the College to qualify and register homeopaths for practicing homeopathy in the province of Ontario.
Those of us who wish to prepare for practicing homeopathy in Ontario should study the regulations and select the school that will prepare us to meet these requirements. So, referencing outside bodies that do not focus on competencies required by the Ontario regulations, is confusing and misleading.
Beyond our Canadian borders, our graduates are qualified and eligible to write the Council for Homeopathic Certification (CHC) exam and practice in the USA.
There are no Homeopathic schools in Ontario comparable to OCHM. Our training takes place two or more weekends a month (Classical Homeopathy lectures) as well as two nights a week (Medical Science classes). On top of this rigorous educational training, our clinical internship is offered during the week and on Saturdays.
Classes run from September to the end of June.
